ANNOUNCEMENTs CARVER SISTERS WIN FIRST PLACE NATIONAL YOUTH INVOLVEMENT AWARD The prestigious National Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Youth Involvement Award was presented to Cory and Alex Ward, of Carver, MA, in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 for their outstanding efforts in support of community agricultural education. The award recognizes young people that are making significant contributions to conservation and their local community. Cory and Alex were selected as outstanding among 375 nominees from across the country. Each year RC&D Councils nominate outstanding youths who have demonstrated innovation and spirit, leadership, outreach and team building in efforts that enrich their community and benefit natural resources. Cory and Alex traveled to Washington, D.C. with their parents, Steve and Pauline Ward, and their brother Justin, to receive their award at the National Association of RC&D Council’s (NARC&DC) National Leadership Meeting held on Capital Hill. They were presented with their award by NARC&DC President, Sharon Ruggi in a ceremony attended by over 200 people. CONGRATULATIONS TO CORY AND ALEX WARD!
