AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS PLANNING

Agricultural Business Planning Training

Pilgrim RC&D has worked closely with the MA Department of Agricultural Resources’ Agricultural Business Training Program to promote and provide organizational and administrative support for NxLevel “Tilling the Soil of Opportunity” Agricultural Business Planning and “Exploring the Small Farm Dream” courses in southeastern Massachusetts and throughout the Commonwealth.

“After eight years and over 300 farm participants in MDAR training programs, interest in the business aspects of farming continues to grow among both established and start-up farms. Support for the farming community among consumers and neighbors in Massachusetts has opened the door to a wide variety of agricultural enterprises that are well run, targeted to local needs and that are part of the national push to rebuild the American economy through small businesses operating within environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable contexts.” Rick Chandler, Agricultural Business Training Program Director
